Predictor variable

A predictor variable is an independent variable in a statistical model that is used to make predictions about a dependent variable. In data science, predictor variables are often used to create predictive models based on historical data. These models can then be used to make predictions about future events or trends. For example, the number of hours a person works per week could be a predictor variable used to predict that person’s income. Other examples of predictor variables could be age, gender, education level or geographic region.
